Personal Notes:
These bars appear underdone, but are easily overbaked! This is my mom's recipe. I've enjoyed them since I was little. One of the favorite trips I made when Sarah and Dan were younger was to go see my parents, Bob and Margie Lucas. Their home in the Sierra forest was always a wonderful retreat for us. Sarah and Dan looked forward to the long drive to Grandma's house, as we knew our visit would be warmly welcomed by mom and dad...and, of course, mom always had a sweet treat fresh out of the oven for us. These brownies are one of our favorites!
