Soak cedar grilling plank in warm water for 20 minutes to 4 hours. Prepare grilling rub by mixing all above ingredients. Marinate or season salmon with grilling rub while plank is soaking. Set seasoned fish (skin side down) on soaked plank, and place on preheated grill with low to medium heat. Close lid and grill for 12 to 30 minutes until fish flakes easily with fork. No need to turn food. Use a spray bottle of water to put out excessive flame.
