1 C. Flour
2/3 C. Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Shortening
1 C. "Grandma's Molasses" Brand Molasses (Yellow Label)
1 Egg, Well beaten
3/4 C. Hot Water
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, brown sugar and shortening with a table fork until you get a crumb consistency. Measure out and set aside 1/2 cup of the flour crumb mixture. Mix baking soda, molasses, beaten egg, vanilla and hot water into the remaining crumb mixture. Pour into an unbaked pie crust shell. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture on top and bake at 425º for 10 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 350º and bake until top has browned.
