1 qt milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 scant c sugar
5-6 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk in double broiler over low heat. Mix eggs and sugar on low speed in medium mixing bowl. Slowly pour milk into egg mixture and mix well. Pour mixture back into double broiler. Cook slowly, stirring constantly until mixture casts a metal spoon. Cool custard quickly in a pan of ice water, add vanilla and stir well. Store covered in refrigerator.
