1/2 lb. dried beans
1 quart water
2 oz. dried salt pork
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cover beans with 1 quart water. Bring to a boil. Simmer 1 hour. Add salt pork, garlic and salt. Cover loosely; simmer very gently until tender, about1 1/2 hours. Add hot water as needed.
