CRUST:
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, finely ground
1-1/2 cups ground vanilla wafers
3/4 c. toasted hazelnuts
2 T. sugar
3 T butter ,softened
FILLING:
3 (8oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 T. hazelnut liqueur
1 c. chocolate chips, coarsely chopped
GLAZE:
2/3 c. chocolate chips
10-15 whole hazelnuts, toasted and skinned
4 T. sour cream
1 T. hazelnut liqueur

For crust: Mix together chocolate chips, vanilla wafers, hazelnuts, sugar and butter; mix well. Press into bottom and up sides of a greased 9-inch spring form pan. Bake at 300º for 15 minutes.
For Filling: With electric mixer, blend cream cheese, sugar, eggs, liqueur, and chocolate chip; mix well. Pour into crust. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. Cool.
For Glaze: Melt chocolate chips in bottom of double broiler. Dip hazelnuts, covering 1/2 half of the nut. Blend sour cream and liqueur into the melted chocolate. Spread on to of cooled cheesecake. Decorate with dipped hazelnuts, around outside edge with one in the center, chocolate side up.

I got this recipe from "Savor the Flavor of Oregon" cookbook. It is the most impressive, best tasting cheesecake you'll ever taste. Most important is to make the cheesecake a day in advance because after being refrigerated, the flavors blend and
'set" and it will taste twice as good.
