7 pounds or 15 rounded cups of medium sliced cucumbers
2 cups lime
2 gallons water
2 quarts white vinegar
1 tablespoon celery seed
1 tablespoon pickling spice
1 tablespoon canning salt
8 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and slice cucumbers. Place in stone jar. Cover with lime and water. Weigh down cucumbers. Soak over night. Next day, rinse well; soak 3 hours in clear water. Drain well. Bring to a boil the vinegar, celery seed, pickling spice, canning salt and sugar. Cover the cucumbers with solution, weigh down and soak overnight. Next morning bring cucumbers and solution to a boil and turn to low boil for 40 minutes or until pickles look transparent. Place in jars and seal.
