1 Tbs vegetable oil
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2 C. chopped yellow onions
1 C. chopped green pepers
4 tsp minced garlic
2 Tbs chili powder
3 Tbs tomato paste
1 tsp mexican oregano
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp cumin
2 C water
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbs Essence (see recipe in Miscellaneous)

1 (15 oz) can peeled whole tomatoes

Heat oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Add ground beef
and cook until brown. Stir in onion, pepper, garlic, chili powder,
Essence, salt, cumin, oregano, and cayenne. Cook for 5
minutes. Add tomatoes (squeeze into small pieces) and the
juices. Add paste, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil. Lower heat
and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with chopped onions,
shredded cheese, an sour cream.
