1 lb. lean ground beef (May use 1/2 beef and 1/2 pork if you prefer)
1/8 cup olive oil
1 large onion - finely chopped
2 cloves garlic - chopped or crushed
2 12 oz. cans Contadina tomato paste
1 small can crushed tomatoes
2 Tbsp. grated Romano cheese
1/2 tsp. oregano
2 Tbsp. chopped basil
2 Tbsp. sugars
5 cups water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup red wine
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley

Saute onion and garlic in oil until lightly browned. Add meat and continue the process. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours stirring occasionally. You may add water if the sauce gets to thick. Serve with your favorite pasta.
