1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 T. cinnamon
2 T. finely chopped nuts

Directions:

Grease and flour an 8 inch square cake pan. Heat oven to 350º. Combine sour cream and soda in a bowl. In mixing bowl, blend butter and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Alternately add sifted dry ingredients and sour cream. Spread half the batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with half the topping mixture. Cover With remaining batter. Sprinkle with remainder of topping. Bake in moderate oven for 45-50 minutes. Serve warm. Can be wrapped in foil and reheated.
