1/2 cup brown sugar
1 - 8 ounce can tomato sauce
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup vinegar
juice from 1 lemon
1 1/2 t. celery seed
1/2 onion, chopped, saute
1/2 t. chili powder
1 T. Worchestershire sauce
2 T. barbecue sauce (hickory smoke flavor)

2 lbs. hamburger
1 cup bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk

Heat all of the sauce ingredients together.

Make the meatballs tiny and brown well. After browning meatballs, add them gently to above sauce and fold in well. Simmer about 1/2 hour. These are best made the day before and refrigerated in the sauce. Carefully reheat just before serving.

Personal Notes:
This is a recipe our family has had most Christmases for many years. Usually, I double the recipe. I don't make the meatballs too tiny.
