1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
6 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 cup water
3 cups oatmeal
1 6-oz package chocolate chips
1 cup butter
1-1/2 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla. Gradually add beaten egg. Add flour mixture and water. Add oatmeal and stir well. Add chocolate chips last. Drop by teaspoon on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325º for 10 minutes.

If batter seems rich, you may need to add some extra flour, not more than 1/4 cup or they will be too dry.
