2 sticks margarine
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teas. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. lemon extract or almond extract
1 can 7-Up

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Beat continually and add the rest of the ingredients except the 7-Up. Mix well. Fold in 7-Up and bake at 325º for 1 to 1 & 1/2 hours. Bake in a well greased and floured pan or use a Teflon bundt pan.

Icing:
2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted
2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp hot milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Cook butter and milk over low heat, stirring constantly. Cook until all ingredients are blended. Remove from heat and add to sugar, stirring until smooth. Add vanilla extract and pour over cooled cake.
