1 pound fresh green beans, cleaned
4 strips bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 to 2/3 cup water
2 to 3 tablespoons vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Cook green beans until tender; rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. In a large frying pan, fry bacon; add onion and cook until bacon is crisp and onion is tender. Combine water, vinegar, and sugar. Adjust to taste. Combine the beans, bacon/onion, and vinegar mixture. Mix cornstarch with water, add to bean mixture, and simmer to thicken sauce.
