1 pound dry penne pasta
1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 red bell pepper, seeded and julienned
1 yellow pepper, seeded and julienned
2 teaspoons garlic, finely chopped
4 tablespoons pesto (homemade or prepared)
2 cups heavy (whipping) cream
salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Cook the pasta according to package directions. While the pasta is cooking, in a large saute pan, cook the shrimp in the olive oil until they just turn pink. Add the julienned peppers, garlic, pesto, and heavy cream. Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture has reduced by half. Transfer to a very heavy shallow bowl, add the cooked, drained pasta and salt and pepper to taste, and combine well. Sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese and serve.
