4 oz. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 - 2 eggs
1 pint milk
1/2 pint lukewarm water
1 - 2 oz. dripping

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Make a well in the center and drop in the whole egg or eggs. Gradually work the liquid into the mixture with a fork or whisk and beat well. The batter can be used at once, but it improves if left to stand for an hour or two. Melt the fat from a beef roast in a roasting pan, and make it very hot. Pour in the batter and bake for 30 - 40 minutes in a very hot oven. 450º - 475º.
