1 cup butter
1 cup confectioners sugar (plus extra confectioners sugar for coating)
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with sugar. Add flour, salt, and vanilla. Fold in pecans. (If batter is not dry and crumbly, add 1/2 to 1 cup more flour.) Roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes or until brown. While cookies are still warm, roll or shake cookies in confectioners sugar to coat.

Do not substitute margarine for sugar. Margarine will produce a flat cookie not a nice ball.

This was a Christmas tradition when Mark and Tee were very young.
