1 pound dried split green peas
2 cups chopped onion cloves chopped garlic
8 cups chicken broth
4 cups water
1 bay leaf

After 1 hour:
1 cup chopped ham
1/2 teaspoon thyme

After 1 more hour:
1 jar (4 ounces) chopped pimiento

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a deep pot. Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour. Add 1 cup chopped ham and 1/2 teaspoon thyme; cook 1 more hour.

Remove bay leaf, stir in 1 jar (4 ounces) chopped pimiento.
