2 T olive oil
2-3 T white wine
1 1/2 lbs. beef round steak, trimmed, cut into 3/4 " cubes.
3 T flour
1 lg onion, roughly chopped
1 3/4 c beef broth (or one 14 1/2 oz can)
1 - 14 1/2 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 envelope Garlic & Herb salad dressing mix
3 med potatoes, cut into 3/4 " cubes
3 c hot cooked noodles

Heat oil in Dutch oven or heavy sauce pot on med-high heat. Put flour and a litttle salt & pepper in large plastic bag and shake to mix. Add beef cubes and shake to coat. Add onion and beef to pot. Stir and cook until browned. (Wooden spoon works best.) Drizzle wine into pot and stir to scrape bits off of bottom. Stir in broth, tomatoes, and salad dressing mix. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Add potatoes and carrots and cover. Simmer an additional 45 minutes.

Remove cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until meat and potatoes are tender and sauce is thickened. Serve over cooked noodles. Serves 8.
