2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 jar maraschino cherries, chopped
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. coconut (opt.)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix the flour, sugar and butter until crumbly. Press in 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 for 20 min. or until litely brown.

2. Blend eggs,brown sugar, salt, vanilla and baking powder.

3. Drain and chop cherries, saving liquid. Stir cherries and nuts into egg mixture.

4. Place on top of baked crust and bake 25 min. Cool. Frost and cut into squares.

Mix 2 T. butter and 1/1/2 c. powdered sugar with enough cherry juice to spread. Sprinkle with coconut if desired.
