2 C sugar
1 C shortening
4 large eggs
1 1/2 C All Purpose flour
1/3 C cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 C chopped pecans
1/2 10 oz pkg miniature marshmallows

ICING
1 box powdered sugar
1/3 C cocoa
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/4 to 1/3 C evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 C chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease and flour 9 x 13 baking pan.

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Beat. Mix flour, cocoa and salt together. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well.

Add vanilla and nuts. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven. Sprinkle marshmallows over cake. Turn oven to 350 degrees F.

Return cake to oven for 10 minutes or until marshmallows turn golden brown. Test cake for doneness. Remove cake from oven and cool for one hour.

ICING
Sift cocoa and sugar together. Mix with melted margarine. Add milk, vanilla and nuts. Blend well and spread over cake.
Refrigerate after icing to make cutting easier.
