3 c. flour (sift before measuring)
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 c. plus 1 T. butter
1 c. plus 1 oz. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
1. Cream together the sugar and butter.
2. Add alternately the dry ingredients and the milk plus vanilla mixture.
3. Add eggs and beat together well. Bake at 350ºF for 25 minutes.

On occasion reserve a small amount of batter and add some cocoa to it. It will make the cake marbled!
