1 Cup plain cornmeal
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1-1/4 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons cooking oil

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º degrees

1. Sift together first 5 ingredients. Add egg, buttermilk,
and oil; beat until blended.
2. Pour into a greased and heated iron skillet and bake
for 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
3. Remove from oven and cut in squares.
