1 T butter
1/2 tsp soda
1-1/2 c peanuts (salted)
1 T vanilla
2 c sugar
1 c corn syrup
1/2 c water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix last three ingredients in large heavy pan. For the first minute or so, put the lid on to keep mixture from srystalizing. Take lid off and put candy thermometer in.

Let temperature go all the way to 300-degrees. Watch without stirring until mixture is golden brown. Put on protective gloves and prepare to move fast. Remove from heat. Put in the butter; stir hard and fast. Continue as adding vanilla, soda and nuts. Pour onto a large unbreakable buttered glass platter.
