Flour 1 1/2 c
Cornstarch 1/2 c
Icing Sugar 3/4 c
Butter 1 c
Salt pinch

Mix dry ingredients. Rub in butter (must be real butter). Mix thoroughly, kneading until cracks appear at the edges of the dough. Roll into balls. Flatten slightly with tines of fork - (or a cut glass dish). Bake carefully at 350º until lightly brown.

Mom used to add a half of a colored cherry at Christmas time. I always use a pound of butter which doubles the recipe.
