1 c. beef broth
8 T. sherry cooking wine, divided
4 T. soy sauce
2 T. cornstarch
2 t. sugar
4 T. vegetable oil, divided
3 c. fresh broccoli florets
2 c. fresh snow peas
1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
1 ½ lbs. boneless top sirloin or round steak, slightly frozen, cut into thin strips
2 cloves of garlic, minced
6 c. hot cooked rice

To make sauce, in a bowl, combine broth 4 T of sherry, soy sauce, cornstarch and sugar. Mix well and set aside. In large skillet or wok, heat 2 T. oil. Stir-fry broccoli for about 2 minutes. Add snow peas and bell pepper for 1 minute. Add remaining sherry to vegetables. Cover and cook 1 to 2 minutes. Remove vegetables from pan and keep warm. Heat remaining oil, add meat and garlic. Stir fry for about 5 minutes or until meat is browned. Add sauce to meat and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently. Add vegetables and heat through. Serve over cooked rice.
