1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. water
3 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until light. Add eggs, molasses and 1/2 cup water; beat thoroughly. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with boiling water, beating after each addition. Bake in greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 cake pan at 350° for 40-50 minutes. Serve warm with lemon sauce.
