2 cans cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
1 c. (2 cubes) butter, melted
3/4 c. chopped pecans
whipped topping for garnish

Pumpkin Variation:
Substitute cherry pie filling with the following mixture:
4 eggs, beaten
1 29 oz. can solid pack pumpkin
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
In a 9x13 dish place the cherry pie filling (or pumpkin mixture). Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the filling. Next sprinkle the chopped pecans. Pour melted butter evenly over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 25 to 30 minutes, or until browned and bubbly. If using pumpkin filling bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Serve garnished with whipped topping.
