1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
4 eggs, well beaten
1 Tbsp. milk
3 tsps. baking soda
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup candied pineapple, chopped
1 tsp. cloves
1 cup candied cherries, chopped
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 ½ cups white raisins
½ cup water
2 ½ cups pecan pieces

Directions:

Preheat over to 250º. Cream together the brown sugar, butter, eggs, and milk. Sift baking soda, 2 cups flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves together. Combine dry ingredients with creamy mixture. Add ½ cup water. Coat fruit with the remaining cup of flour. Stir coated fruit and pecan pieces into dough. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Cook slowly, approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Careful not to let them burn. This is a good fruit cookie for those who do not like fruit cake!
