3/4 c. corn meal
1 c. boiling water
1 1/4 c. milk
2 well-beaten eggs
1 T. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Add each ingredient in order to the 3/4 cup of cornmeal. Pour into buttered baking dish and bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

This was a family specialty of my mother's (Edith McEwen Dorian), a favorite with everybody - literally "bread" that you ate with a spoon. I don't know whether it was a McEwen family recipe or not.
