2 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup light corn syrup
2 cups peanuts
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in 3-quart saucepan. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves. When syrup boils, blend in butter. Stir frequently after mixture reaches the syrup stage 230°. Add nuts slowly when the temperature reaches soft crack stage 280°, and stir constantly until the temperature reaches 305°. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in soda, mixing thoroughly. Pour onto 2 cookie sheets or 2 - 15 1/2" x 101/2" 1" pans.
As candy cools, stretch it out with a spatula.
