1 package (18-1/4 ounces) yellow cake mix
3 cups sliced peeled tart apples
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup whipping cream
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, optional
Directions:
Directions:
Prepare cake batter according to package directions; pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Combine apples, walnuts, sugar and cinnamon; spoon over batter. Pour cream over the top. Bake at 350° for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired. Yield: 12-15 servings.
