1 loaf French bread, cut in 1-inch slices
1 (12 oz.) can apple pie filling
8 large eggs
2 cups 1/2 & 1/2 plus 1 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 T. corn syrup
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Butter 9x13 pan. Place one layer of bread in pan and spread filling over bread. Place another layer of bread on top. Mix eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour over bread slices. Refrigerate overnight.

Before baking, spread with ½ c. soft butter, 1 c. brown sugar, 2 T. corn syrup, and 1 c. chopped nuts.

Bake @ 350º for 50 mins. Serve with syrup if desired.
