1 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 t. baking soda
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. nuts

Syrup:
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. butter
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together sugar, flour, butter, milk, and baking soda. Add dates and nuts. Pour into greased
2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Pour syrup over batter and bake at 350º for 35 -4 40 minutes. Edges will start to pull away from the pan when done.
