1 whole chicken (with skin)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbs. shortening
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Stew chicken until done. Retain liquid! Skin and bone chicken and chop into large bite-sized pieces. Set aside. Bring broth to a boil.

Dumplings: Cut egg and shortening into other ingredients with pie cutter. Add enough milk to make workable dough. Roll dough on floured surface to about 1/8" thick. Cut into strips. Drop dumplings into boiling chicken stock. Salt and pepper to taste. Do not drain! You can add a stick of butter if you like it really rich! Dump chicken into dumpling and serve.
