1/2 lb. Crisco, 1/2 lb. granulated sugar, 6 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1
1/2 lbs flour, 1 tsp. baking powder
BAVARIAN CREAM
1 qt. heavy whipping cream
3 tsp. almond extract
1 box (5.1 oz.) instant vanilla pudding

Preheat oven to 350º
COOKIE: Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add eggs and
vanilla, beat until smooth. Add flour and baking powder. Mix
till just combined, let rest for 5 minutes, roll into 1 in. balls.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until just firm, they will be very pale.
While still warm, scoop out about one teaspoon of cookie from
the bottom. Dip the rounded side in a mixture of maraschino
cherry juice with 3 tbsp. of water, then dip in sugar. Place flat
side down, let dry for a few minutes, then fill with Bavarian
Cream.
BAVARIAN CREAM: Whip all ingredients until stiff. Fill one
side of cookie with a scant teaspoon of custard add the
second cookie, put in small paper cup and decorate with a
stem of whole cloves and a mint leaf.
Makes approx. 35 "peaches"
