1 - 2 lb bag brown sugar
5 c flour
3 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 c water
1 1/2 c salad oil
1 large can Pumpkin Pie Mix
6 eggs
Honey

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. This can be mixed together in a large bowl with wooden spoon. Fill pans 2/3 full. Grease pans on bottom and sides prior to filling.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes.
Coat top thoroughly with honey as soon as the pans are removed from the oven and while warm. They can be frozen--just wrap tightly.

This might be one of the most used recipes in the Dave Anderson family. When Ben was about 1 and 1/2 years old, we had made this recipe and the loaves were sitting on the cabinet top. He was able to get a loaf off the cabinet. When we walked into the kitchen, Ben was sitting on the flour eating the pumpkin bread. Everyone else loves this recipe as well. In fact one year at Christmas our candy making crew made jars of this recipe to give as gifts.
