Aunt Gert's Banana Bread Recipe

3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
3 Tbs. milk
1 tsp. soda
3 bananas, mashed
1 3/4 c. flour
nuts (optional - I opt not)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar & shortening. Mix in other ingredients. Grease & flour 2 medium bread loaf pans. Fill pans half full. Bake @ 350º for 1 hr.

For muffins, grease & flour muffin tins. Fill cups almost full. Bake @ 350º for 20 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes & remove from pan carefully w/ a knife.

I received this recipe from a co-worker, who got it from her Aunt Gert, a farmer's wife near Red Wing. I've tried a lot of recipes for banana bread, this is the one I always go back to.
