1/2 t. ground ginger
1/2 t. ground mustard
5 lb. fresh beef brisket

2 c. water
1 c. ketchup
1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
2 T brown sugar
2 t. liquid smoke flavoring (optional)
1 t. chili powder

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the ginger and mustard and rub over brisket. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 325º for 2 hours.

Let stand for 20 minutes. Thinly slice meat across the grain. Place in a foil-lined 13 x 9 x 2" baking dish. In a bowl combine the remaining incredients. Pour over meat. Cover lightly with foil and bake 3 hours longer or until tender. Serve over buns.
