1 (18.25oz.) box strawberry cake mix
1 (3oz.) pkg strawberry flavored gelatin
3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp. cognac
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat to 350º. Bake cake in 13x9 pan according to directions. Allow to cool completely. Invert cake onto serving platter. Mix gelatin to directions. Refrigerate until cool but still liquid. In med bowl combine berries, sugar and cognac. Cover and let stand 20 min. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla at med/hi speed until stiff peaks form. Using a straw poke holes throughout cake. Slowly pour gelatin into holes and over the top of cake. Spread berries in single layer, spread whipped cream on top of strawberries. Cover and chill at least 4 hours.
