3 Tbl. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 ripe bananas(mashed)
2 cups flour
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix baking soda and buttermilk and set aside. Cream sugar and shortening. Add bananas, then flour alternately with eggs. Add buttermilk mixture and stir gently; add nuts. Bake at 350º 45 to 50 minutes.
