2 sticks butter, softened
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. plain flour
3 tsp. cinnammon
1 tsp. cloves(powder)
2 tsp. alspice
1 c. chopped pecans
1 1 lb. jar applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream together: butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla. Add dry mixture. Add chopped pecans. Add LAST: applesauce and baking soda. Mix all ingredients thoroughly in stages as listed above. Bake at 400 degrees until firm to touch. Batter can be stored in fridge indefinitely and used as needed. Optional: serve hot with butter or cool sprinkled with powdered sugar.
