6 frankfurters (hot dogs)
6 julienne strips Cheddar or American cheese
1 cup Bisquick baking mix
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400º.
Grease loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3 inches. Split franks lengthwise, not cutting completely through. Fill each with a strip of cheese.
Mix remaining ingredients with fork; beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Spread in pan. Arrange franks crosswise on dough in pan, curving slightly and pressing to fit pan. Press into dough slightly.
Bake until bread is light brown, about 20 minutes. To serve, cut bread between franks. Top with favorite condiments: mustard, ketchup, relish, chopped onions, etc.

This became a summer lunchtime favorite when the girls were growing up. We had fun with different variations of fillings.
Variations:
Fill franks with Chili dog sauce and top with grated cheese and chopped onion.
Fill franks with relish, ketchup, or sauerkraut.
