1 tbsp gelatin
2 tbsp cold water
2 cups milk
2 tbsp flour
2 squares bitter chocolate
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp rum extract
4 eggs, separated
1 cup granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Soak gelatin in cold water and mix in 1/2 cup sugar, flour and cream of tartar. Scald milk, beat egg yolks and add to sugar and flour mixture. Cook until thickens. Take 1 cup of filling and add chocolate and vanilla. Pour into 2 baked pie shells and let set. Add gelatin to rest of custard filling and let cool. Make a Merengue with remaining egg whites, sugar and extract. Add to custard. spread over other filling and add whipped cream and grated chocolate over top.

This recipe comes from a friend of my mother's. It's super rich and you hardly hear of it anymore, so I thought it was worth adding.
