1/4 cup Crisco
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt

Second layer:
1 cup brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans
1 cup coconut

Cream shortening and sugar, add flour and blend together. Press into greased pan and bake for about 12-15 minutes.

For second layer:
Beat sugar and eggs until fluffy. Add pecans and coconut, and mix well. Spread over the other baked layer. Bake for another 35 minutes at 350. Cut while still warm.
