Crust: 1 stick butter, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1/3 C. sugar, 1 C. flour
Cream Layer: 8 oz. cream cheese softened, 1/4 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp almond extract.
Apple layer: 1/2 tsp allspice, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 c. sliced almonds, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp butter, 4 c peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Jonathan).

Preheat overn to 400 degrees
Crust: cream butter and sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and 1 inch up sides of a 9" springform pan.
Cream layer: combine cream cheese and sugar, blend in egg and extract. Pour into pastry lined springform pan. Bake for 10 min.
Apple layer: Combine sugar, spices, apples, lemon juice. Spoon over cream layer and sprinkle with almonds. Dot with butter. Bake 25 minutes at 400. After 10 minutes cover with foil. cool completely before removing ring.
