1 cup butter (not margarine)
2 cups sugar
3 cups plain flour
1 cup milk
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
4 eggs - separated

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add well beaten egg yolks. Mix in sifted dry ingredients alternating with milk. Add vanilla, fold in beaten egg whites. Bake at 365 degrees for 14 – 25 minutes. Can be done as sheet cake or layered cake.
