2 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. shortening or substitute
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. giner
1 cup raisins
3/4 cup syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix wet ingredients together.
Combine alternately in thirds or fourths, ending with the dry ingredients.
Pour into large loaf pan.
Bake for one hour at 350 degrees.
Serve cold, or warm (buttered is good!).
Goes well with coffee.
