2 cups brown sugar
2 cups sifted flour
2 sticks margarine
1 egg (beaten)
1 cup buttermilk
6 Heath bars (freeze first in wrapper – then pound to break)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1/1 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped pecans

Cut margarine into flour and sugar until it resembles course crumbs: set aside 1 cup for topping! Mix buttermilk, soda, salt, and vanilla with beaten egg. Add to flour mixture and blend with mixer. Pour in greased 9 x 13 pan: sprinkle with 1 cup reserved mixture, crushed candy, nuts and a few chocolate chips if desired. Bake for 45 mins. at 350º (check with toothpick).
