1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
3 oz package cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg yolk (reserve white)
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º. In large bowl, combine sugar, salt, butter, cream cheese, vanilla and egg yolk. Stir in flour. chill dough for 1/2 hour.

Work with 1/3rd of dough at a time so that dough remains cold. Pinch off dough and roll into 1" balls. Brush with beaten egg white and roll into pecans, flatten and bake for 7 -10 minutes. May bake plain and roll in powdered sugar.

This recipe was from my maternal Aunt Wilma from Harrisburg, Arkansas. When we were little and we would visit for the holidays all kinds of colorful homemade cookies and candies were put out on large platters around the house for us to enjoy. (My hips are their fault!)
